Summary:The information technology effectiveness (ITE) has become one of the important variables to know whether the investment in information technology (IT) provide benefits or accordance with expected business objectives. This is even more important when it comes to government institutions, because the success in it can not be measured directly. <br /> <br /> <br /> The alignment of business strategy and information technology (Business IT- Alignment - BITA) has been trusted to be one of the keys to the success of ITE. The influence of culture, both national culture, organizational culture, and suborganization, to BITA, has made the researchers do various studies because culture can not be separated from human factors as a factor of business actors and users of information technology (IT). <br /> <br /> <br /> Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) as one of the government institutions is trying to improve the role of IT to improve the quality of public services for the community. In order to improve the role of IT to meet the business objectives of BPS, awareness of the importance of BITA is required. In this research, the writer uses Strategic Alignment Maturity Model (SAMM) Luftman's Business-IT alignment measurement model to measure BITA maturity. <br /> <br /> <br /> This study examines ITE, whether there is a relationship between, ITE with organizational culture and SAMM-BITA with organizational culture, so that it can be used as BPS reference to improve ITE as well as BITA maturity at BPS <br />
