Summary:Reactivation of railway tracks in West Sumatera in recent years has started to intensify. West Sumatera Provincial Government in cooperation with the Ministry <br /> <br /> of Transportation will reactivate the Sawah Lunto-Padang Panjang- Padang railway tracks which will be more focused on serving passengers. In Batu Tabal-Padang Panjang-Kayu Taman corridor, there are 14 railway crossing bridges that need to be improved in terms of strengths on their structural aspect. In this Final <br /> <br /> Project, the author will design one of the bridges in Batu Tabal-Padang Panjang-Padang corridor based on the design criteria and applicable strandards. The <br /> <br /> Construction design of railway bridge structures should be held at the lowest possible price level with the best quality output and ensuring safety and comfort. <br /> <br /> Prestressed concrete material is concrete material which is prestressed through a steel cable (tendon). For similar spans and loads prestressed concrete materials <br /> <br /> require less concrete and reinforcement steel than reinforced concrete materials. Therefore, I-girder prestressed concrete bridge becomes an interesting option to be discussed more deeply because it can be held at the lowest possible cost and produce the maximum results.
