| Summary: | Bandung which designed as a resort city has grown significantly in the last 50 years. The number of people with the increasing economic capability to build the city has made Bandung to be one of the largest metropolitan in Indonesia. The population explosion has significant effect to switching land in urban areas. In addition, the high level of competition and the demands of the global economy make some investment give effect to changing the structure and the face of the city of Bandung. Urban catalyst is one of the approaches used to regulate and accelerate the growth of the city. Integrated Area of Trans Studio Bandung at Gatot Subroto have revolutionized the face in the region. Unfortunately, this rapid growth is not accompanied by the arrangement of the surrounding area, so that the emergence of the social impact of infrastructure problems and complex, challenging, and expensive. This changes if no arrangement, it will interfere with the performance and capacity of the region. Therefore, urban catalyst is considered suitable as an approach to urban design intervention in solving the issues in this region. |
