Summary: | Development of technology and high challenges of urban life parallel to the high level of stresses become the major issue of human illness. The healing process that reduces stress and anxiety become a trend in the hospitality facilities that accommodate healing activity along with the creation of a comfortable and quiet atmosphere. Role of architecture placed in space design to accommodate such healing activities and can also help the healing process that is supported by the surrounding environment. Basically, relaxing environment is an environment that can reduce stresses and it is known that the media that creates the atmospheres, emotions and human perceptions of a space is the five basic senses of human. The use of the five senses i.e. vision, hearing, smell, taste and touch, also found out as the best way to relieve stress. <br />

Precedent studies in the form of healing facilities that are considered successful helping the healing process are the main datas in the preparation of the design criterias. Analysis of the theory and precedent studies elaborated that the healing facilities to accommodate activities of existing sight, smelling the fragrance of frangipani flowers, feeling the texture of the grass, tasting the herbs and hearing the rush of water as a design environment that can help the healing process. Therefore, the design of healing village along with the development of the healing architecture concept by utilizing the human five senses can help the healing process. Architectural elements of healing facility in the form of healing garden, yoga and meditation area, spa area and other supporting facilities that hold healing activities are the agents that help the healing process. |
