Description
Summary:Sooner or later, rapid the development of the city that is coupled with thee needs of the greater activities of the population will force changes in land use in the the city of Bandung including uncontrolled devit on the Jl. Progo and Jl. Jend. Sudirman corridors, any land use change should provide a positive impact to the surrounding environment. Therefore, this studi was conducted to reveal the changes in the quality of urban space as an influence of land use and intensity changes.

This explpnatory study was conducted to elucidatethe the effects of land use change and intensity to the quality of urban space in the Jl. Progo and Jl. Jend. Sudirman corridors. The method used is a qualitative method, where this method is used to see the connection between land use with the quality of urban space in a corridor that has a characteristic change and regional identities in the study area to be studied. Chhiteria for assessing the quality of urban space on the secon corridor is the access, compatibility, view, identity, sense and livability.

This research reveals that land use changes both uncreasing and decreasing intensity has decrease the spatial quality of Jl. Progo and Jl. Jend. Sudirman corridors. The assessment is based on the conditions of urban design elements on both road corridors at present (2016) compares to the time before land use changes (Jl. Progo in 2002 and Jl. Jend. Sudirman in 2016)
