Description
Summary:This geodynamic analysis was analyzed based on Harvard University CMT (centroid moment tensor) solutions and from seismogram data Z, N, and E component for Sunda Strait earthquake Augustus, 26th 2008. Focal mechanism solution can be obtained from CMT and wave polarities (P, SV, and SH) which shown an oblique normal fault pattern. Vector arrays were plotted to determine the dominant force which causing the oblique normal fault pattern. Based on vector

analysis performed in this study indicated that the earthquake has North-East tendency with the horizontal force is more dominant than the vertical force. From vector analysis and the location of earthquake which take place between Sumatera Fault and Mentawai fault zone can be concluded that the earthquake has a transtensional flower structure tectonic pattern.
