The structure of GL1 is designed by using composite sandwich. Utilization of composite materials in aircraft structures is growing rapidly due to its strength to weight advantage over alloy materials. However, the critical process is how to apply this technology to produce an efficient structures. In order to achieve this, a proper configuration of the composite structure is required. This final project is focused on fuselage skin, the design and analysis of the composite structure. Currently, it is being focused in the manufacturing phase by the developers. The selection of composite sandwich structure configurations was analyzed by variations in lamina count, stacking order, core thickness, core type, and fiber orientation. These variations produced several candidate arrangements which will be done stresses analysis on each lamina and the core. Analysis was done by both computationally and analytically with several differences in results. The former method also used to check skin instability on fuselage. The final objective is to obtain the best candidates as a recommendation to composite sandwich configurations. text
