ANALYSIS OF MENTAL WORKLOAD AND WORKING POSTURE WITH PREVALENCE OF MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS (MSDs) AND FATIGUE AMONG EMPLOYEES IN PT.KTI, CILEGON

Some of previous study showed that workload and working posture were risk factors caused occupational health problem such as Musculoskeletal Disorders and Fatigue of any industry. PT.Krakatau Tirta Industri was suppliers of clean water company. There was some of working activity such as maintainance and repairing of distribution pipes, computer users for administration activity, supervision of water treatment performance, laboratory and pouring the alum which obtained differences of workload and ways of working. Therefore, this study was conducted to find the potencial symptoms of MSDs and fatigue and then determinant factors for that symptoms in PT.KTI employees by assessement of workload, working posture and individual characteristic. This was Cross-Sectional study with observation using questionnare of NASA-TLX, RULA, Nordic Body Map and Subjective Self Rating Test. The highest prevalence of MSDs experienced in every type of job was pain on lower back, wrist, shoulders, and upper back. Meanwhile, the results of physical examination by doctors showed frequent complaints on the job of Maintenance and Repairing Pipe, Laboratory and Computer Users which were suspected Low Back Pain, Myalgia on the shoulders and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.The results of the working posture assessment showed the Grand Score of RULA for Computer Users and Pouring Alum ranged between 3-4 and 6-7 with Action Level 2 and Action Level 4. PT.KTI has low fatigue level which was for the job Pouring Alum had mean greater score of fatigue than other jobs. Test of correlation test was showed that educational level of computers users had relationship to low back pain with the value of Odd Ratio was 3.19 times greater experienced by high school graduate than bachelor degree. Variable of workload and mental demands had positive relationship to feeling fatigue, while age has a negative relationship. The results of linear regression showed workload was the determinant factors can affect fatigue in PT.KTI. <br /> <br />
