Facial recognition application for attendance system using OpenCV is developed in this final project. There are several methods that are often used for face recognition such as Eigenfaces, Fisherfaces, and LBPH (Local Binary Pattern Histogram). The face recognition method used in this final project is LBPH. The LBPH method divide the image into small parts and process each part of the image to calculate its LBP value and then recombine it and generate a histogram for each face. Images with a similar histogram will be classified into the same face. <br />

The application can be used to shots the face and store them in the face database, perform facial recognition, and generate attendance records. The result of the implementation shows that the LBPH method can recognize the face with average accuration higher than 90% if the recognition is done in the same room and condition when the face database was recorded and recognize the face with average accuration higher than 80% if the recognition is done in the different room and condition. |
