EVALUATION OF CROSSWALK CHARACTERISTICS IN URBAN ROAD AREA (CASE STUDY OF OTTO ISKANDARDINATA STREET, BANDUNG

This kind of characteristics can be used as a basic idea to perform an evaluation toward the existing criteria of choosing pedestrian crossing facility. The evaluation process will use multi-linear-regression model with pedestrian crossing delay and pedestrian crossing speed as the observed response variables. Therefore, this research is about to develop a multi-linear-regression model of pedestrian crossing delay and pedestrian crossing speed, and developing a suggestion for the right pedestrian crossing facility based on the multi-linear-regression model as well. The regression model of pedestrian crossing delay is Y = 2,97 + 1,23 X10, with the most influencing parameter is accompany of more than 3 persons (X10), while the regression model of pedestrian crossing speed is Y = 1,06?0,07 X8?0,15 X9?0,17 X10?0,09 X11, with the most influencing parameter is accompany (group) of 2 persons (X8), accompany of 3 persons (X9), accompany of more than 3 persons (X10), and pedestrian baggage (X11). Based on the model mentioned before, the average pedestrian crossing delay is 3,054 seconds, and the average of pedestrian crossing speed is 1,005 m/s. Reffering to the criteria of choosing the pedestrian crossing facility published by Bina Marga, the facility desired in the observed road is pelican crossing with the additon of waiting space, meanwhile based on the matrice created from multi-linear-regression model, the desired facility is pelican crossing. text
