Summary:Technological developments have lead to a shift in physical work into mental work. The shift requires workers to put more brain capability than physical ability. This can causes to an increase in mental workload in the industry. According to previous research, the perceived workload will depend on individual personality differences. In addition, personality plays an important role in mental workload while doing the work. Thus it can be indicated that personality can be related to mental workload. Several countries have conducted research on personality and mental workload. But in Indonesia there has been no research that discusses the personality and mental workload. The research showed that cultural differences between countries can give effect to the personality and mental workload measurement, therefore it is necessary to research the influence of personality to mental workload in Indonesia. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Respondents in this study were students of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) aged around 18-22 years. The number of respondents used in this study were 92 respondents. Measurement of mental workload in performance is measured from reaction time and accuracy when the respondent performs the experimental task in visual memory search task with secondary counting task. Then the subjective measurements were performed using NASA-TLX and RSME measured at each end of the task block. Personality measuring tool using HEXACO-PI-R 60 questions. Then the data is processed using ANOVA Repeated Measure. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The results of this study are there is no influences personality to mental workload. But there influences personality to frustration rates. <br />
