In product development process, a heavy equipment <br /> <br /> manufacturing company in Indonesia uses static analisis FEM with dynamic <br /> <br /> force as the input to simulate the impact load. <br /> <br /> In this final project, the author uses FEM of static and dynamic load to simulate <br /> <br /> impact load. With the increasing of accuracy of modeling in dynamic load <br /> <br /> simulation, it’s expected to increase the speed of product development process. <br /> <br /> From FEM static load case, the critical location is located on the area around <br /> <br /> the arm cylinder pin with the highest stress is 138.9 MPa. For dynamic load <br /> <br /> analysis, the critical location is located on the area around the bucket tooth with <br /> <br /> the highest stress is 690 MPa. To make sure that the FEM dynamic load case is <br /> <br /> correct, the author compared the stress from FEM dynamic load to stress from <br /> <br /> impact test. The stress of FEM dynamic load is 2 times higher than stress from <br /> <br /> impact test with R2 = 0,9045.
