The number of TPB students in <br /> <br /> <br /> ITB now are more than four thousands people, but the facilities in the form of room <br /> <br /> <br /> that can be used for the examination is limited. To overcome this difficulty, a <br /> <br /> <br /> program that can be used to produce a good arrangement of examination room for <br /> <br /> <br /> TPB students should be developed. The arrangement of examination room is <br /> <br /> <br /> considered to be good enough if it uses small number of rooms, the number of <br /> <br /> <br /> students placed in an examination room matchs the capacity of the room, students <br /> <br /> <br /> in the same class are placed in one building, and classes taught by the same lecturer <br /> <br /> <br /> are also placed in one building. The program was developed using integer linear <br /> <br /> <br /> programming methods to search for a heuristic solution. The parameters which <br /> <br /> <br /> become the basic in arranging this examination room are the capacities of <br /> <br /> <br /> examination rooms that available to be used and their locations, as well as the <br /> <br /> <br /> number of students in each class and the number of classes taught by each lecturer. <br /> <br /> <br /> The program is created using MATLAB. The program receives the input of all data <br /> <br /> <br /> that become the basic parameter in the arrangement of examination room and then <br /> <br /> <br /> provides an optimal result of the arrangement of examination room in the form of <br /> <br /> <br /> tables in Microsoft Excel. text
