Summary: | Flood is a diseaster that happened because of some reason, one of that is because of human error and the mistaken for the design of disposed water. The rain water that is not absorb by the soil, because of there are none of the land to collect the surface water such as trees or land, and it will raised the height of the water that flows in the surface, and for the time being it will go higher. This could cause a flood, that will give disadvantage for the organism and human being that lived aroung the flood watershed and the land around.
Flood disaster that happened in Martapura is caused by overflow of Barito River in South Kalimantan. The river overflow will flowing the area around it that contain of farmer land and civil society plantation. There are a lot of method that could be done to complete the floods problem. One of the solution is to build a detention reservoir, that will hold the water in rainy season and the excess water would be store in this the detention reservoir.
To modeled the reservoir that would be used as a flood controllers solution, we will used HEC-HMS 3.5 software, this software could modeled the rain as hydrologic data or as the natural event that happened that will effected the flood. Hydrology data that required to calculate flood flow is effective rain water, evapotranspiration data, topography data for the area where the reservoir will be build, and than the channel section that will get from the map.
To get flood hydrograph data it will need hydrograph method to modeled flood flow. Some of the hydrograph model that can be used are Snyder hydrograph, Nakayasu, ITB-1 Synthetic Hydrograph, ITB-2 Synthetic Hydrograph and a lot of hydrograph method. From all those method, all of that could be used as a comparison to get what method that would be effected for the counting or simulation. However, between those four method it cannot summarize or settled which method better than the other. Because of the hydrograph have a different characteristic. To get a certain hydrograph, parameter calibration are needed such as α, β, and TL (time lag) parameter. In this research, the hydrograph that will be used to calculate the hydrology parameter is Snyder hydrograph. Even though, this method has lower peak flow, but it really affected the hydrologic calculation.
The HEC-HMS 3.5 model could be done that will decrease the flow and it will be done by input channel routing method. Channel routing is one of the method in meteorological model in HEC-HMS 3.5, and if this method used we will be able to routing the river with a section or a way that will assumed or appropriate with the real situation.
To simulate the decreasing of the flow when a solution to maintain the flood have been input drom hydrologic data or flood flow that had gotten from previous model in HEC-HMS 3.5 to HEC-RAS 4.1. this software use to get the hydraulic model from the river. Generally, the river simulation are river that influential in Martapura, those are Riam Kiwa River, Riam Kanan River, Tuan River, Martapura River, and Martapura Hilir River. This river hydraulic requirements for the project are cross section data, the height of left over bank, the right over bank and the channel of the river that modeled in HEC-RAS and initial flow for every upstream and downstream. In this software the water level of the river, in this final project the final result is the peak flow before and after the reservoir in RIam Kiwa is installed, when the reservoir has been installed the peak flow of the subbasin Riam Kiwa 2 will decreasing. When the opening of the spillway is 3m, the decreasing of the flow is from 1420m3 to 500m3 and the decreasing is influenced by the opening of the gate in spillway. Although, the opening of the gate is not suggested if it is to large, because that will minimize the impact of the gate in spillway. |
