Summary: | Oil is the resources that widely use in this era. Many effort has been done to increase oil recovery from from reservoir, one of them is Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Chemical injection is one of the method of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). The injected chemical can be polymer (polymer flooding), surfactant (surfactant flooding), and alkaline (alkaline flooding). The commonly used polymer for that injection is partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM). From the method, injection of combine solution between alkaline, surfactant, and polymer (ASP Flooding) is the promising method for Enhanced Oil Recovery. The objective of this research is characteristic study of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) in Alkaline, Surfactant, Polymer Flooding (ASP Flooding) <br />

Partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide formulated from acrylamide polymerisation and hydrolisis. HPAM from the polymerisation process at temperature 80 oC obtain the molecular weight of 27.7 x 106 dalton. Meanwhile the result of polymerization at temperature 95oC obtain the molecular weight lesser than at 80oC which is 2.1 x 106 dalton. The procedure of inputing the initiator has a significant impact in the creation of HPAM. At the same reaction temperature, input of initiator before the nitrogen purging resulted in lesser molecular weight rather than the input after nitrogen purging. In this research the maximum composition of HPAM variant is 2800 ppm. The addition of HPAM in the injection fluid shows the increase of viscosity in the injected solution. Surfactant that used in this research is biodegradable surfactant, which is methyl ester sulfonat. Methyl ester sulfonat formulated from the reaction of methly ester and sulfuric acid. Methyl ester that being used came from the result of esterification and transesterification from CNO (Coconut Oil) and PKO (Palm Kernel Oil). In this research the composition variant of surfactant is start from 0.1%-mass to 0.8%-mass. Phase behavior analysis show the optimum microemulsion is when the injection fluid solution at 0.5%-mass. Alkaline that use in this research is sodium carbonate. The composition variant of alkaline start from 200 ppm to 1600 ppm. The addition of alkaline can decrease the viscosity of the injection fluid. Core flooding analysis environtment that used are sandstone and light oil. Core flooding analysis show that ASP flooding has the higher oil recovery compare to SP flooding or polymer flooding. The highest oil recovery from ASP flooding has result of 23.53% OOIP (Original Oil In Place). |
