Nyamplung oil that contain 40-73% on the kernel seeds as a source of biofuel. <br /> <br /> <br /> Nyamplung seed oil were obtained at 70-90°C preheating temperature for 10-30 minutes by mechanical press; extraction with n-hexane using Soxhlet at 20-40 mesh <br /> <br /> <br /> kernel sieving and temperature of 80°C for 6-8 hours; degumming with the addition of 0.1-0.3%-w/w oil of 85% H3PO4; neutralization with addition of 0-4%-w/w exceeded oil acid value KOH; bleaching for 15-30 minutes using earth ground bentonite and charcoal 1%-w/w oil each; and characterization of the oil before and after refining in the form of the acid value, saponification value, iodine value, peroxide value, unsaponification matter content, and phosphorus content. <br /> <br /> <br /> The result showed that oil obtained from mechanical extraction are better than Soxhlet extraction. Degumming, neutralization, and bleaching were required to refine oil without ignoring one refining process. Refined oil were obtained contained 0.14 mg KOH/gr oil acid value, 156.49 mg KOH/gr oil saponification value, 90.42 gr I2/100 gr oil iodine value, 0.99 meq O2/kg oil peroxide value, 0,18%- <br /> <br /> <br /> w/w unsaponification matter content, and 35,35 mg P/kg oil phosphorus content. text
