SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSEMENT ON LAND ACQUISITION FOR SOEKARNO-HATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Providing infrastructure in Indonesia is one way to improve national economy, but there are various obstacles in the implementation. This also happens at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, where its implementation is constrained due to the unfeasibility of the people in the land acquisition process for the development of the airport. Social impact assesment can be used as a tool to facilitate the wishes of each stakeholder involved in development and manage all the social changes and consequences that occur due to planned intervention action (policy, development program, plan or project). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This research will identify the social impacts that can occur in the land acquisition process for the development of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The study will also describe the conditions and issues related to the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport development and acquisition project. It will then identify stakeholders and their role and identify the impacts that is already occurred in the land acquisition process. At the end, it will also be estimated the impact that will occur in the process of land acquisition for the development of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Identification of social impact will be done by using social impact assessment method. Stakeholder identification is done by using stakeholder analysis, which is part of a social impact assessment. Key social impacts that may occur are determined by key social impacts obtained by using scoping of key issues. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The results showed that anxiety and decreased morale caused by land acquisition greatly affected the daily life of the community. The impacts that arise in this land acquisition process may trigger another impact in the future. Based on the analysis conducted there are three impacts that are expected to occur due to land acquisition. The three impacts are cultural poverty, horizontal conflict in the community due to land value, and delayed implementation of Soekarno-Hatta Airport development. <br />
