DISTRACTING STRESS WITH NATURE RUMAH SAKIT KHUSUS KANKER DI KOTA SURAKARTA

The number of cancer sufferers in Indonesia keep increasing every single year. However, the increasing of the number of cancer sufferers is not supported by adequate facility. Until today, there are only three cancer hospital in Indonesia and two of them is located in Jakarta. Therefore, new cancer hospital is needed to be built to expand cancer medication in Indonesia. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Central Java is the Province with the highest number of cancer sufferers in Indonesia. D.I Yogyakarta is the Province with the highest cancer prevalention rate in Indonesia. The city of Surakarta is chosen to be the location of the project because it is located in central java but also located near to D.I Yogyakarta. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The design procress of this cancer hospital is based of the facility technical guideline for general hospital class C, which published by the department of health. To complete the specialty of this hospital there will be some additions of facilities which commonly not provided in general hospital, such ad chemotherapy and nuclear medicine. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The approach that is used in this design is fuctional dan user approach because hospital design should concern on the fuctionality of the building and the characteristics of the user to create a good healing environment. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The main idea in this project is “Distracting Stress with Nature”. This concept is chosen because stress is the main problem in hospital. To avoid someone feeling stressed is to distract them, in this project the way to distract stress is with providing good view to the nature. Besides that, this project also carrying another concept which is to produce a modern visual of the building that does not look like a hospital in general.
