Magnetotellurik method is one example of geophysical passive method that uses natural electromagnetic field source at a wide enough frequency (10-5 Hz – 104 Hz). The physical parameters of the Magnetotelluric method are impedances that describe the characteristics of the subsurface. The subsurfac...

The physical parameters of the Magnetotelluric method are impedances that describe the characteristics of the subsurface. The subsurface model used is a horizontally plated earth model. The future modeling scheme of the 1 dimensional Magnetotelluric method uses a recursive formula that yields pseudo-resistivit data and phase. Then modeled the inversion using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, where the algorithm is a stochastic or global optimization algorithm. This method mimics the processes that occur in the life of the bird population (flock of bird) and the fish (school of fish) in survival. This inversion modeling scheme uses Synthetic data as validated algorithm generated and Field data as its application. Then the PSO inversion modeling results will be compared with other stochastic optimization inversion methods, ie the Very-Fast Simulated Annealing (VFSA and Restrictive Velocity Particle Swarm Optimization (RVPSO) algorithm. text
