This development should be followed by proper sanitation system, including wastewater treatment system. One of the solutions that can be applied is by designing domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in city scale. WWTP serves seven urban villages, while the others 20 urban villages will still use on-site system. These seven urban villages have already had septic tanks. However, the grey water still drain to the drainage or river nearby. In these urban villages are really hard to find empty space if we want to construct communal or region WWTP. That’s why off-site system is chosen as the best way to overcome wastewater. The WWTP location is at Muarareja and the area of WWTP is 1.5 ha. The average capacity of sWWTP in the first sage (2019-2029) is 7,212.7 m3/day and 14,425 m3/day for the second stage (2029-2039). Until 2039 WWTP will serve 114.629 citizen with percentage of citizen that served by WWTP is 45%. WWTP at this city will use a series of treatment technologies, as follow: (1) pre-treatment will be bar screen and grit chamber; (2) primary treatment will be primary sedimentation or primary clarifier; (3) secondary treatment with 4 alternatives that possible to be applied such as: Wastewater Stabilization Ponds (WSP), Complete Mixed Activated Sludge (CMAS), Oxidation Ditch, or Contact Stabilization; (4) tertiary treatment will be wetland; and (5) sludge treatment will be gravity thickener and belt press. In choosing secondary treatment we combined scoring system and ranking system. Some aspects that should be considered are efficiency, reliability, sludge disposal, land need, effect on environmental, operational cost, construction cost, sustainability, and simplicity. The chosen alternative is CMAS in which is followed by wetland. Cost that’s needed for the first stage of WWTP is 21,287,451,000.00 IDR. The effluent and treated sludge of WWTP can be use as a recycle resource for some activities in WWTP or around WWTP. text |
