Description
Summary:Bandung as the capital city of West Java province has been growing as the city with the various types of activities, especially as a city of trade, services, education, and industry. All types of activity that there has been a major driving force for economic growth Bandung and its surroundings. Total population experienced a population increase of 1.36% on average from 2002 to 2013 year. The high number of people in Bandung followed by an increase in the number of private vehicle ownership since the year 2008-2010 of 8.34% which is believed could affect traffic conditions. This research has been focusing on the impact of road level of service and vehicle exhaust gas emissions. Emissions inventory is a tool that can be used as a basis for decision making on issues of air pollution. This is because the transport sector has become the largest source of pollution in urban areas. In addition, this study also aimed to compare the emission load estimation using multiple database emission factors with different characteristics which will be comparing to the result of vehicles emission primary test.

The area that will be identified in this reasearch consist of 11 roads in Bandung City which is used as monorail development plan in the city of Bandung, where the road is Jalan Ir. H. Juanda, Jalan Dipati Ukur, Jalan Merdeka, Jalan Braga, Jalan Lembong, Jalan Veteran, Jalan Sunda, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Pelajar Pejuang 45, Jalan Buah Batu, dan jalan Terusan Buah Batu. The result of road level of service shows that eight out of eleven have level of service under B level according to MKJI (Except Jalan Dipati Ukur, Jalan Veteran, and Jalan Buah Batu). This result shows that those eight roads will have potential for delay or traffic congestion. However, after implementing of the monorail scenario Bandung, then there is improvement of road level of service, where only five roads that under B level. It shows that the monorail implementation scenario can improve road level of service in Bandung city.

Meanwhile, the results of the primary test for elements of CO, NO2, and SO2 in the existing condition indicates that the entire road does not exceed the applicable standards in Indonesia. However, for the entire road noise factor exceeds the specified quality standards. The primary test data retrieval is performed for 1 hour for each of the roads at peak hours. The results of model calculations vehicle exhaust gas emissions for elements CO, NO2, and SO2 by using the data traffic volume and emission factors prevailing in Indonesia (ITB LAPI and Ministry of Environment) showed a lower or equal to the primary test results that have been done, especially for elements of CO and SO2 were felt to be more appropriate if using emission factors issued by ITB LAPI while pollutant NO2 is more appropriate to use the emission factor of the Ministry of Environment. Overall, the scenario monorail in the city of Bandung can improve road level of service and lower pollutant gas emissions from the transportation sector.
