Summary: | Sumedang Regency currently has one final disposal site of wastes that still active and operate until now in Cibeureum landfill that located at Cibeureum Wetan Village, Cimalaka District. Cibeureum landfill is still applying the open dumping method on its waste management, but actually it is prohibited to be operated according to UU No. 18 Tahun 2008. The limited space in Cibeureum landfill and the absence of environmentally processing facilities become the main problem to capacity and age of landfill service. This design aims to provide an alternative solution in the planning and development of final waste management in Cibeureum landfill in the long term to reduce the adverse impact on the environment and the health of surrounding communities. This design and development of starts from the evaluation and development of landfill both technical and non-technical aspects, the design starts from the initial planning analysis starting from the projection of waste generation entering the Cibeureum landfill with and the typical design of the application sanitary landfill in Cibeureum landfill including landfill zone design, waste reduction estimation in final disposal site, design of leachate & biogas emission treatment, and also analysis of landfill infrastructure needs referring to Permen PU No. 3 Tahun 2013. After sampling and measurement of garbage at Cibeureum landfill, it is found that waste generation entering to landfill is 62,998 Ton/day with garbage composition dominated by wet garbage (organic) equal to 52,45%. Based on scenario of planning and processing technology selected in the form of sanitary landfill and supported by mechanical processing for sorting and biological processing by windrow composting, obtained the result of analysis in the form of waste reduction potential in final disposal site of wastes can reach 52,91% while the rest in the form of waste residue dumped with sanitary landfill method integrated into leachate treatment facility and gasbio emissions. The design and development of Cibeureum landfill can provide the capacity and service age of Cibeureum landfill meet the needs of waste management in Sumedang Regency according to regulaion and standard. |
