Summary: | Along with the rapid development of information technology and telecommunication, many research on filter design was done to get good performance, one of which is filter design based on Defected Ground Structure (DGS). Based on definition, DGS is a technique with intentionally modifying the ground plane of microstrip by giving slot that have an effect on the value of S-parameter and bandwidth. In this research discusses the design of bandpass filter based on DGS that consist of four elements strip on patch and DGS incorporation, that is slot DGS and slot split ring DGS. DGS incorporation is applied for enhancing the passband bandwidth response, return loss, and insertion loss. The design method by changing the parameters on dimension of each component in microstrip to get good performance. In addition implemented in microstrip technology, bandpass filter also implemented by analyze of capasitor and inductor equivalent circuit. The equivalent circuit refers to design of microstrip bandpass filter based on DGS. Microstrip bandpass filter is deployed on a 0.8 mm thick FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate with the dimension of 27.4 mm x 22 mm. This bandpass filter has -3 dB bandwidth response of 4.55 GHz ranges from 1.4 GHz to 5.95 GHz. And the equivalent circuit has -3 dB bandwidth response of 4.8 GHz ranges from 1.35 GHz to 6.15 GHz. |
