One of the mitigation efforts of the earthquake is to map the earthquake-prone area. Mapping

earthquake-prone areas will be done such as with the mapping seismicity parameter variation of Gutenberg Richter relationship and earthquake recurrence. Seismicity parameter analysis is important because changes in a short seismicity area closely related to stress and pressure changes beneath the surface

of the region. Frequency-magnitude distribution of the Gutenberg-Richter expressed in log N = a-b M. The a-value is a parameter that reflects the level of

seismic seismicity a region in a certain period. The b-value is a parameter closely related to tectonic stress level and tectonic characteristic of a region. The b-value variation of Gutenberg-Richter relationship plays an important role in most of the earthquake forecasting models related to disaster risk. The b-value variation an area believed to inversely proportional to the change in stress level area. In this final project, seismicity parameter analysis and earthquake recurrence performed using data the relocation of tectonic earthquake catalog

from EHB catalog (1964-2005) and catalog the National Earthquake Information Center of USGS (2006 - May 2009). The calculation seismicity parameters are determined using maximum likelihood method with ZMAP software. From the analysis of seismicity parameter in the quake region of Papua with a limit of 2°LU - 6°LS and 130°BT - 141°BT, obtained b-value variation ranged from 0,5 to 1,8 and a-value variation ranged from 3,8 to 16,5. Earthquake recurrence with M 6,5 in the Neck area of Papua and Papua body is around 5-6 years.
