Summary: | Nowadays, energy have been one of the human main needs. The Nuclear Power Plan can be one of solutions to those problems. However, the contruction of Nuclear Power Plant in Indonesi is still debated. Considering its own safety and its wastes management. Therefore, this study was conducted to assist solving one of those issues. In this study, toxicity values of reactor waste will be calculated, precisely Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR). Toxicity values of reactor wastes will be calculated since wastes can be removed safely from reactor to one million onwards.

This study was conducted by using the Runge-Kutta fourth order method. Toxicity values obtained by calculating the number density values with C++ source code. The toxicity values will be obtained based on te number density of these elements and the value of Annual Limit on Intake (ALI) respectively according to the value contained in ICRP Publication 68.

Over one milion years, the total value of toxicity of the reactor waste will be 201.032 which higher than the natural uranium toxicity, values 9.28. This indicates that the waste produced by the reactor is very dangerous if dispersed into nearby environment. It is necessary to take action to manage the waste, sorting radioactive elements contained in the waste is one of them. Another method is using deep-geological disposal method. |
