DURI STATION AS AN URBAN CONNECTOR

The increasing number of residents in DKI Jakarta cause density and congestion in various streets of the capital. To overcome congestion in the city of Jakarta, the government of DKI Jakarta provides several mass transportation tools. PT. Kereta Api Indonesia as a state-owned enterprise that handles the transportation of railway along with its facilities and infrastructure also take part in handling the congestion of the capital by providing commuter line train services. <br /> <br /> <br /> Duri Station is a public transportation building that caters to commuter line passenger trains and will serve potential passengers on airport-destination trains. Duri station located in West Jakarta is located between residents. The problems that arise in the area is the existence of public facilities located in the area opposite the railroad tracks, so to reach the public facilities residents must walk far enough to cross the rail safely. In addition, the lack of public open space in the area around Duri Station tread becomes a problem in the area. The design of Duri Station is expected to be able to overcome the problems that exist around the tread and able to answer the operational needs of the station. <br /> <br /> <br /> Indication of the design idea that emerged in the design of Duri Station is the improvement of station quality that initially only serve passenger commuter line train, now must be able to serve passenger of airport destination train so that there is increasing of station capacity. Indication of the next design idea is a station that can accommodate the needs of local residents. Connectivity becomes the main concept on the design of this station.
