SUSTAINABILITY ANALYSIS AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF ECO PESANTREN (Case in Eco Pesantren of Daarut Tauhiid, West-Bandung District)

<br /> <br /> <br /> Islamic boarding school is a religious educational institution that has great potential and contribution to the efforts of saving the environment. Eco Pesantren of Daarut Tauhiid pioneered to build a sustainable community oriented to save the enviroment. The sustainability of a community can not be separated from the ecological, economic, social and institutional dimensions. This study analyzes the sustainability and development strategy of eco pesantren. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics and describe the Eco Pesantren of Daarut Tauhiid, assessing the sustainability level by using indicators of sustainability, and formulating alternative strategies for sustainable eco pesantren. Respondents consisted of key informants, citizens and students through purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, and observations on the eco pesantren area. Data analysis is descriptive qualitative- quantitative. The results show that Eco Pesantren of Daarut Tauhiid has characteristics as an fairly environmentally friendly area, economically productive, socially empowered and institutionally resilient. The result of the assessment using the sustainability indicator shows that the average score obtained is 58.73 and including in fairly sustainable categories. The institutional dimensions get the highest score, which is 69.80. Followed by social and economic dimensions with a score of 65.62 and 51.04. these three dimensions are including in fairly sustainable categories. The ecological dimensions with score 48.44 is in the less sustainabel category. The identification result of internal (3.067) and external (2.737) factors is known that eco pesantren are on quadrant I (growth and build). The results of SWOT matrix analysis is strategy of S-O (Strenght-Opportunities) which were conducted ranking strategy using QSPM matrix. The strategic prioriries that are hard tree planting program in green open space, developing new business based on environment and technology, partnership with the goverment and private environmental program, cooperation in the provision of environmental infrastructure to the private sector.
