THE EFFECT OF USING RED SHADE NET ON LYCOPENE CONTENT AND THE EFFECT OF USING Trigona sp AS POLLINATOR ON CHERRY TOMATO FRUIT AMOUNT( Solanum lycopersicum L. var. cerasiforme )

Lycopene is red colouring substance in tomatoes which also used as antioxidant. Cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicum var cerasiforme) is a commodity which contains high yield of lycopene. Red light have been known to have a role at enhancing lycopene content in cherry tomatoes. Red shadenet could fil...

Red shadenet could filter the light so the light which then delivered to tomato plants dominated by red light. Trigona sp bee is a stingless pollinator that could produce other product such as propolis and honey. In this research, the effect of using red shadenet on lycopene content will be reviewed, also the effect of using Trigona sp bees as pollinator on fruit mass will be reviewed. Research done in a screenhouse with media containing soil:husk ash:manure=1:1:1 with water input 500ml/day/plants for four months. Cherry tomatoes from tomato plants grown under red shadenet have their lycopene content enhanced by 36,49%. Pollination using Trigona sp pollinator increase tomato fruits mass per plants by 6,79%. Lycopene productivity with this method is 558,6 g/ha/year. text
