PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri is a supporting unit of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) in the provision of clean water. Most of the water produced is used for industrial purpose and the other for the needs of the city of Cilegon. Demand water level in Krakatau Steel Industrial area is getting up. especially with the addition of Posco factory resulting in the processing load at the Krenceng Water Treatment Plant become heavier. Although the initial design discharge processing was 2,000 liters / second, but until now the maximum discharge successfully operated is 1,600 liters / second, And even then only to meet the needs at any given moment so never carried out a systematic and planned. Another issue is when the discharge of 7,000 m3 / hour, overflow occurs in the distribution chamber so that the discharge may be processed just under 7,000 m3 / h. A further problem is at the time of discharge of 5,000 m3 / hin the filtration unit is full so often happens automatic backwash. To overcome the problems that occur, it is planned to increase the capacity of water treatment to create a new installation unit which has a capacity of 700 liters / sec. Based on the secondary <br /> <br /> <br /> data processing units is planned to be built. The units are coagulation using hydraulic jump, flocculation hydraulic or Baffled channel, rectangular sedimentation tanks with tube settler, and rapid sand filtration using a dual media filter. With the new water treatment plant, PT. Krakatau Tirta Industri will be able to improve their services to <br /> <br /> <br /> consumers.
