Description
Summary:Kecamatan Margahayu, Margaasih, and Dayeuhkolot have a high population density, with density reaches 9.411 person/km2 and growth rate reaches 1,64% per year. The city development will cause the increase of population that must be followed by environmental sanitation quality improvement. Sewerage system is one of the important infrastructure to help improvement of environmental sanitation quality. Most of population in planning area (74.24%) already had latrines, but only

small percentage of population (37.13%) who had septic tank with leach field. Population increasing in planning area will cause the treatment of domestic wastewater with on-site system using septic tank is not possible to do in the future, because there will be not enough area for leach field. This condition will lead to pollution of soil, groundwater, and river. The proper domestic wastewater sewerage system will be made at this planning, that include the detail planning of sewerage

pipeline and the complementary building needed. Based on existing conditions and design principles such as the high population density, low septic tank ownership,

relatively flat land contour, low soil permeability, as well as technical and economic factors, the suitable domestic sewerage systems to build in planning area is

centralized (off-site) system using conventional system. The system will receive wastewater, incluiding the solid, that coming from kitchen and toilet. Sewerage

system path is decided by making 3 alternatives of sewerage path with different pattern, by considering the land contour, river crossing, complementary building,

and cost prediction. Alternative is selected by weighting and analyzing the advantage and disadvantage of each alternative.
