Description
Summary:
This final project discusses about the problems that occur due to the developments of new areas. New developments in question are a residential area named Sentul City and the development of a new highway called Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR). These developments cause the rise of a new traffic load to be handled by the existing road network. Since both of these developments took place in relatively the same time and both are located close together, have the same access in and out, namely South Sentul toll gate, it needs further study to examine whether the existing road network can accommodate the new traffic load.

The analysis that be done in this final project are analysis of the queue on South Sentul toll gate and analysis of the surrounding road network. The analytical method used to queue analysis is queuing theory with M/M/1 model that produces the minimum required toll gate and queue length produced by Sentul City toll gate. The analytical method used for the surrounding road network is the method of Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) with a discussion of urban roads and Simulation and Assignment of Traffic to Urban Road Networks (SATURN) program. This method produces Volume-Capacity Ratio (VCR) that is used to determine the level of road network capacity to accommodate the load of existing traffic.

The conclusion of this final project is necessary traffic management and the addition of a new road network, especially the addition of direct ramp connecting Jagorawi toll road and BORR. With the direct ramp, the traffic load that must be accommodated in South Sentul toll gates can be reduced to 50%.
