Summary: | Shallot is one of the leading vegetable commodities that have long been cultivated by

farmers intensively. The increasing demand and demand for shallot every year can

not be followed by the increase of production. This is caused by the free factor in

cultivation of plants such as the diversity of soil types, pest control, disease and

weeds, fertilization and postharvest handling is not appropriate. One of shallot

cultivation technology that is being developed is onion cultivation from botanical

seed or TSS (True Shallot Seed) which has many advantages. But the development of

this technology is still constrained by the uniform small bulb produced and the dose

of fertilization is not right. This study aims to determine the effect of NPK 16-16-16

and PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) on the productivity of shallot

small bulb. This research was conducted at screenhouse 1 B in ITB Jatinangor

campus area, Sumedang regency. The field research was conducted for 16 weeks for

shallot cultivation process with the observation period was done once every 1 week,

done after seeding or after 6 weeks old plant. Observations consisted of observations

of plant height and number of leaves. Then during the harvest period observations

were made on the overall dry weight of the plant, the overall wet weight of the plant,

the dry weight of the bulbs, and the diameter of the bulb. The research design is

Completely Randomized Design (RAL). There are four treatment, treatment A that is

treatment with NPK 16-16-16 + PGPR 0 g / L, treatment B that is treatment with

NPK 16-16-16 + PGPR 5 g / L fertilizer, treatment C is treatment with NPK 16

fertilizer -16-16 + PGPR 10 g / L, treatment D was treated with NPK 16-16-16 +

PGPR 15 g / L. The results of this study showed that NPK 16-16-16 + PGPR 5 g / L

had significant effect on leaf number, wet weight of plant, dry weight of plant, dry

tuber weight, and tuber diameter, but no significant effect on plant height. |
