The decrease will not only affect a company but will affect people in the world as well because of the importance of oil’s role in economic stability of the world. Experts always develop methods which are able to improve oil recovery. The method has been found named enhanced oil recovery (EOR). EOR is a method that use external energy from reservoir to increase oil recovery. There are some type EOR methods which has specific function. Combining methods will give maximum benefits. Water alternating gas (WAG) and Carbonated water injection are popular example of combined method.

This study is done by using comercial simulator CMG-STARS. The simulation which has been done, gives comparasion of WAG method, Carbonated water injection method and continuous CO2 injection method. The comparasion can be seen with comparing oil recovery, sweep efficiency and displacement efficiency of each method. The objective of this study are to determine best well pattern which give highest oil recovery factor in field X , to determine EOR method which gives highest oil recovery in field X , to determine optimum volume ratio of gas and water to be used in WAG method and to determine gas or water to be used as first injected fluid in WAG method to give higher oil recovery factor.

Result of this study shows that combined method like WAG and carbonated water injection give higher oil recovery compared to continuous CO2 injection. Based on the study, water injection as first injection and having gas water volume ratio which is 1:1 in WAG method will give higher oil recovery compared any other simulated WAG method. text
