Bioremediation is one of technologies that has been used to treat those waste. One of limiting factors of implementing bioremediation is unconducive soil condition for biological process. Soil amendment like adding bulking agent can be done to improve the soil texture. This study is aimed to look on the effects of bulking agent addition to different soil texture types on bioremediation process of crude oil contaminated soil on laboratory scale and to determine the optimum variation in implementing composting technique on the treated sample. Bioremediation with composting technique was done on two types of soil which were loamy sand (S) and silty clay loam (C) with different water holding capacity. There were two types of bulking agent added which were mixture of dried leaves and grass trimmings and wood chips with volumtric addition ratio od 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4. The effect of bulking agent in this research was not significantly seen based on the reduction of TPH concentration on reactors with bulking agent was not quite different with the control on each soil. Even so, the optimum variation for this bioremediation process is the variation with the bulking agent amendment which showed the highest TPH degradation rate value (k) on each soil. For soil S, variation of bioremediation process with the addition of mixture of dried leaves and grass trimmings with ratio soil : bulking agent = 4:1 was chosen as optimum variation with TPH degradation value is 0.0257%dry weight/day. Meanwhile, the addition of mixture of dried leaves and grass trimmings with ratio soil : bulking agent = 3:1 for bioremediation process on soil C was chosen as optimum variation to be implemented with TPH degradation value is 0.0191%dry weight/day.<p align="justify"> text
