Description
Summary:Jelekong ex-landfill site is located in Cijati Panyaengan Street, Jelekong Village, Bandung Regency. It had been closed as a landfill site in 2005. It has been planned by Bandung City’s Government as organic waste treatment facility. Waste input of the installation is using waste from markets. The sampling result in TPS Pasar Anyar and TPS Balubur shows, the organic waste percentage was 78,79% of 1,97 ton/day and 81,39% of 0,29 ton/day. Until now, organic waste reduction numbers at the source or TPS are still low therefore communal reduction are needed. The application of anaerobic digestion technology will reduce the organic waste generation and gives by-product that can be utilized. Laboratory test result, organic waste has 89,39% of water content, 87,29% of volatile content, and 29,57 of C/N ratio. Therefore, the design of reactor is wet, continuous, and thermophilic. At the installation, the processing units designed are tipping floor, conveyor belts to remove inorganic and residual materials, shredder, input tank, reactors, digestate basin, biogas purification to remove H2S gas, biogas storage, separator, maturation area to treat solid digestate (fiber) and liquor basin. The waste input is 20 tons/day, it will be produced 0.45 tons of biogas, 3.29 tons of solid digestate (fiber), and 28.64 tons of liquid digestate. Liquid digestate will be recirculated back to the input tank. Solid digestate will be used as compost, and biogas will be used for cooking by people around it. Monitoring and maintenance is needed to maintain the condition of each processing unit.
