Besides using horizontal well as a means to increase oil production, many methods are applied to increase oil flow inside reservoir. Water flood and surfactant flood are some of the methods. Those two method are to be expected to displace oil inside the reservoir so that the oil can flow through reservoir to the production well. But water flood itself is not that effective in some type of reservoir because it turns out that oil in reservoir can adhere to the rock due to high interfacial tension between rock and oil. Because of the high interfacial tension between rock and oil, surfactant flood is generally being used after production oil using water flood is not significant enough. <br />
<br />
Because of many factor above, this study is being done to discuss the connection between those factors above if being applied in one single reservoir system. This study is done to find the most effective way to implement injection and production activity both using horizontal well. Although water and surfactant injection activity is seldom using horizontal, but it is possible that there are a case in which depleted horizontal well being converted as a injection well. |
