Summary: |
Warm pool in Pacific Ocean is a good subject to study ocean dynamics and atmospheric conditions in the Pacific Ocean. Water coloum of this warm pool is very influenced by the dynamics of both ocean and atmosphere conditions, one of that which is the El-Nino Sounthern Oscillation (ENSO). This ENSO phenomenon will cause water mass oscillation movement of warm pool in the Pacific ocean in east-west direction. The influence of ENSO on the movement of warm pool can be known through trajectory model The Larval Transport Lagrangian Model (LTRANS) which uses hydrodynamic data input from Regional Ocean Model System (ROMS). From this 3D hydrodynamic ROMS can be seen that there is a shringkage extents of warm pool when the El-Nino event compared to when normal condition. In addtion, from vertical profiles can be seen that when the normal contion of ENSO warm pool can reach until 50m depth and disapperars when the EL-Nino event in 2015. Furtheremore, the trajectory model LTRANS simulated in two scenarios, there is when normal condition of ENSO (July 1th to December 31th 2015). From this simulaton shows that when the El-Nino in 2015, the number of particle of warm pool that enters Indonesia seas become more less and move eastward dominantly when compared with normal contiditon in 2014.
|
