Summary: | The increase of population will affect to increasing human activity. The higher of human activity will cause the need of resources that will be used to fulfill the daily needs. Each resource that used by human will produce the waste or in other word the waste generation will increase as the population growth. Cimahi City is one of the cities on West Java Province. The population in Cimahi City has increased every year. Then, the waste generation will follow (or effected by) the population growth. Waste Transfer Station (SPA) is the one of waste handling facility that can reduce the volume of waste with compaction machine. It would reduce the waste transportation cost, because in 1 rotation the amount of the waste will increase with the same volume of non-compacted waste. Sangkuriang Waste Transfer Station is the only one Waste Transfer Station in Cimahi City. Sangkuriang Waste Transfer Station provides more than 20 tons or above 90 cubic meters a day. The source of the waste is from North Cimahi District and other location. Based on Master plan of Waste Management System in Cimahi City, by 2019 all of the waste in Cimahi City must cleaned and treated. Then, the exsiting condition of Final Treatment and Disposal Site is going to be full, so the government arrange the master plan to move the Final Treatment and Disposal Site to the Legok Nangka Final Treatment and Disposal Site. Because of the distance between Cimahi City and Legok Nangka is too far and there is a limit to dispose the waste by 150 ton in a day, Cimahi City must reduce the amount of waste that should be landfilled to the Legok Nangka Final Treatment and Disposal Site. Sangkuriang Waste Transfer Station will be re-design and optimize (include: storage system, collecting system, treatment system, and transporting system) to reach the effective and efficient waste management system. <br />
