Summary:Cicaheum Transfer Station (will be further referred as Cicaheum TS) has 216.45 m2 of area and is located in Cicaheum. Cicaheum TS collects solid waste from municipal area and commercial areas (traditional markets and Cicaheum Bus Terminal). Cicaheum TS collects about 36.55 m3 of solid waste per day – most of them are organics (57.83%), plastic (20.34%), and paper (7.25%) – and 93.18% of it is being transported daily to Sarimukti final disposal site – which was initially designed to treat solid waste until 2016, but the new site at Legok Nangka won’t be operational before 2021. To reduce the waste that needs to be transported to final disposal site, the Cicaheum TS needs to be improved by building 3R-based Cicaheum TS. 3R-based Cicaheum TS is designed to convert organic waste into biogas using 15 high-solids anaerobic digester reactors (each reactor can treat 3 m3 of organic waste), convert coconut waste into white coir using stripping machine and defibering machine, and to facilitate the reselling of salable cardboard waste and plastic waste. Each day, Cicaheum 3R-based TS will generate 64.33 m3 of biogas from anaerobic digestion of organic waste, 0.15 m3 of salable white coir, 0.38 m3 of transparent PET plastics, 0.13 m3 of colored PET plastics, and 0.25 m3 of PP plastics – in estimation. By treating these kinds of waste in Cicaheum 3R-based TS, the volume of residual waste that needs to be transported to final disposal site is 1.16 m3/day, or 16.68% of the waste that is collected in Cicaheum 3R-based TS. Organic waste treatment using high-solids anaerobic digesters in Cicaheum 3R-based TS costs Rp 592,557 per ton, annually. Based on NPV (Net Present Value) analysis, it is economically sustainable to build 3R-based Cicaheum because the NPV value of this project is +Rp 24,274,301. <br /> <br />
