At the excavation process of underground mining is often found layered rocks with a certain angle that is found in the access of development and production. Rock mass conditions are influenced by the existence of tectonic activity that works on rock mass. In a tunnel there are several rock compositions with different strengths and have a certain layered angle.

Laboratory testing is required to obtain data of various properties of the layered rocks. Physical properties, dynamic properties, and mechanical properties were tested. But that will be the focus is a test of mechanical properties through Triaxial test that will get the value of cohesion, internal friction angle, and shear stress of the rock. In this research we used variation of KLK and LKL layer sequence with the composition of the material, K (rock with volume composition is cement : sand = 1:1) and L rock (rock with volume composition cement : sand = 1:3) with each the sample has a 1: 1 ratio between strong (K) and weak (L) materials, so the difference is the order of the strong and weak variations of the material. With a slope angle of bedding is 15°, 30°, and 45° to the horizontal axis.

The results of the study showed that there was a difference of compressive strength, cohesion, and friction angle between variations of the layer. Based on the Triaxial test, it is found that the layered material with a variety of strong and weak materials has a cohesion value inversely to the friction angle value. The cohesion value of the LKL > KLK, and the friction angle of the KLK > LKL. Based on the Triaxial test, the cohesion values for LKL material variations are 15°>45°>30°, and for KLK material variation is 30°>15°>45°. Friction angle values for LKL materials are 30°>45°>15°, and the friction angle value for KLK material variation is 45°>15°>30°. |
