Some major cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan and Palembang still have problems in the management of slum areas. Looking at all the problems that exist in this slum, it can be said that the handling of the waste problem is the main issue to be solved. Currently the government has tried to do various ways to tackle many problems in slums, especially waste management. As an example of a program of city without the slums (KOTAKU) that has been implemented for the last three years setting the target for 0% slums in Indonesia. But until now the results of this program has not seen significant yet. <br /> <br /> Therefore, I want to evaluate the extent to which this program has been implemented and how it impacts on existing slums. Evaluation as a part and a step of the planning process which will be the basis for policy making for future program improvement. The purpose of the research that I will do is to assess and evaluate a program development of slum areas in Palembang which is the capital of South Sumatra Province.
