Description
Summary:Lumajang is a one of district that is encourage the addition of waste processing station with 3R principle (reduce, reuse, recycle) or commonly referred to as TPS 3R. This is related with the age issue of landfill Lumajang continyues to decrease and beyond prediction plan. In 2018, Pasirian subdistrict and Lumajang Environmental Services have plans to build the TPS 3R with the aim of reducing the waste that will be transported to Lumajang landfill and reduce transportation costs. Waste transportation facilities in Pasirian are currently shaded by two different institutions, there are the government of each village (for household waste) and Lumajang Environmental Services (for nonhousehold waste). To date, there is still one village which has given the household waste transportation facilities and that’s village is Pasirian village. This TPS 3R will be built on an empty land owned by Pasirian Village covering an area of 578 m2. Based on the results of sampling using the SNI M-36-1991-03 method, it shows that the generation of Pasirian Village waste reaches 1.686 liters / person / day with the composition of organic waste (food scraps + leaves) of 54.22%, inorganic waste that worth to sell at 37%, and residual waste is 8.78%. Whereas non-settlement waste generation reached 2.14 tons / day with a composition of 59.85% organic waste, 31.46 inorganic waste, and 8.69% residual waste. The design of the Pasirian 3R TPS consists of loading and unloading areas, sorting areas, storage areas for sale inorganic waste, residue storage areas, and biological processing areas that are equipped with office facilities, sanitation, vegetation, parking areas, and places of worship.
