PROPOSED BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR PT PUPUK KUJANG CORPORATE UNIVERSITY

The competitive environment PT Pupuk Kujang faced in subsidized and nonsubsidized fertilizer are always changing. This causes the company need to keep up with the current market condition and constantly improving to be at the top of the competition. The company have assets that are currently idle and needed to be utilized. There are several assets that currently used in the business activities, but most of the other assets are left unused. The idle asset have become a burden to the company activities because the assets must be maintained. The company need to find the suitable action to utilize their assets. <br /> <br /> <br /> This research aim to find out why a problem exist in the company business activity. By analyzing the company internal condition and conduct analysis in the external environment, the company can gain the picture of then current condition in the company. From the analysis, the root cause of found in the company is the lack of asset utilization. The current condition in the company shows that many of the assets in the company are lack in the usage and only some of the assets are used. This causes the company to have idle assets that can be used in the business activity. The proposed business solution to improve the company’s business activity by utilizing the assets available in the company. From the external analysis, there are three main sectors the company try to enter, first is the tourism/entertainment sector, property sector, and education sector. In the analysis, it is shown that the education sector have the positive prospect and aligned with the company goals. <br /> <br /> <br /> PT Pupuk Kujang have planned to develop their training center. The development of,training center can also help the company in utilizing their current assets that can be used for the training programs. The development of industries around Kujang gives the company a long-term potential to get another chance to provide a training program, education, and certification in accordance with the industry needs by using the current facilities and other assets. The company also plans to upgrade their training center into a Corporate University. Just like other multinational companies in Indonesia, corporate university have helped the development of human resource and improved the business activity. The development of corporate university can help the utilization of the assets to the education sector. This plan is needed to facilitate the needs of the companies that wanted to utilize their assets and improve the quality of their employees to fulfill their goals. <br /> <br /> <br /> This final project presents an overview of the condition PT Pupuk Kujang and the core competences that can be used as the competitive advantage in the corporate university development. Several corporate universities in Indonesia will be studied to obtain the concepts needed in the development. The purpose of the study is to try to explain the contribution and,understand the corporate university concept. This final project also helps in the development of the conceptual model and comparing different models of corporate university in several multinational companies.
