Description
Summary:
Multifunctional Rural Transport Vehicle is a research that was inspored by Indonesian rural road condition. Indonesian rural road conditions are normally narrow, steep, has lots of gravel and mud, and also holes, so the roads are basically unsmooth and rough. Other factors that also put into consideration are the functionality of the vehicle. Unlick city people, rural people needs of transport vehicle is different. Normally, they use transport vehicles or cars to transport their hervests, livestocks, and also big and long materials, such as long pipes, long metal beams, and also woods, and on some occasion, they need to transport people as well. From these backgrounds, researcher was motivated to do this research. His goal is to design a vehicle that can get through the rough terrain easily, while maintaining good fuel consumption and carryin heavy loads, and also has a good safety for its passengers. The main problem with Indonesian transport vehicle is those vehicles aren’t actually built for rough road use. The vehicles were designed to be used around city and smooth road. Datas were collected through observations and comparation study. Those data will later be analized and compared. From this research and study, researcher concludes that rural people need a type of vechicle that is not to big, but big enough to carry heavy loads such as live sticks, harvests, and assengers, easy and cheap to maintain, could handle rough terrain, economical, and also easy to use.
