In this research, an image reconstruction system provided for poroused tree detection. The system consists of a pair of microwave transmitter and receiver that rotates along the object, as in this study the objects are wood logs that represent the trees. The system reconstructs the image of the internal structure of the tree without destructs the tree itself by using microwave. Receiver antenna measured the scattering parameter from transmitter antenna that scattered by the object. The measurements then processed by using Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (ART) to produce the image of internal structure of object. This approach is evaluated by using synthetic data from simulation and initial result from image reconstruction. The result shows that the hollow with simple geometrical shape which represents poroused wood successfully recognized. The system shows best result using single frequency 1.5 GHz for wood object with relative permittivity of 2.4. text |
