In the contex of memorizing the Quran, muroja’ah means to repeat or recall the verses of the Quran that have been memorized. Muroja’ah is commonly performed in front of a teacher because it allows the reciter (the actor of muroja’ah) to get feedbacks on the Quran recitation. Due to some reasons, people who memorize the Quran are not able to find a teacher or companion to do muroja’ah. The use of mobile application using Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology can be an alternative to assist the reciters and give them feedbacks on their recitation of Quran during the muroja’ah. Currently, some Quran mobile applications using ASR have been developed but they still need an advancement in order to get more suitable application for murajaah. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The purpose of this project is to build a mobile application that can recognize and assess Quran recitation and has an appropriate interaction to assist users in performing muroja’ah. The ASR system was developed modularly using Speech Recognition in the Cloud architecture-type. The ASR system was adopted from Kaldi GStreamer Server developed by Alumae (2014) and the model used is an HMM-GMM model developed by Ridwan (2017). The application can detect two types of error from user’s Quran recitation. These are verse sequence error (skipping verse or return to the previous verse) and verse element error (insertion, deletion or both). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The mobile application using ASR system to assist muroja'ah have been developed. All functional requirement that are defined pass the test. Interaction of the application are considered suitable for assisting muroja'ah. It is concluded from participant's assesment in usability testing with four of six participant stating that the application interaction was appropriate for assisting muroja'ah, one participant stated that it was quite unsuitable and one participant state that it was very suitable. Although the application interaction is considered suitable for assisting muroja'ah, the appearance and interaction of the application is still quite difficult to understand. It was also concluded from usability testing in which five of six participant state that application interaction is quite difficult and one stated that it was very easy to understand and use. Non-functional testing of the ASR system modularity was done by replacing ASR model used to recognize Quran recitation from HMM-GMM model developed by Ridwan (2017) into DNN model developed by Muslimin (2018). Modularity of the ASR system have successfully passed the test with the assertion that the application can still be used after replacing the model without any changes to the application source code <br /> text |
