Congestion in the city of Bandung is caused by patterns of movement of workers who live in suburban areas and work in the city center. The working system that weakens the bond between workers and the workplace and the development potential of information communication technology causes the emergence of contingent workers. Mulyana (2016) said that urban villagers have a tendency to choose a location to work close to their workplace because of their low income and limited travel costs to work at a distance to a remote workplace. Ujungberung Subdistrict is a suburban area that acts as a gateway to Bandung's commuter pattern and has conventional residential areas and urban villages. There is a potential that the emergence of contingent workers in Ujungberung District will reduce congestion in the city of Bandung. Until the time of this research was compiled there had never been any research on the existence of contingent workers in the urban suburbs of the suburbs. The way to find out the existence of contingent workers is to look at the socio-economic characteristics, the pattern of movement of workers to the workplace, and the development of information communication technology to help complete work and reduce physical movement to the workplace. The results of the questionnaire on workers in RW 11 Pasirjati Village, Ujungberung Subdistrict are the majority working close to their homes and have a low level of dependence on the central area of Bandung City. The number of contingent workers in RW 11 Pasirjati Village, Ujungberung District has a greater proportion than non-contingent workers.
