Geographically, the research area is located at UTM coordinates of 435000 – 448000 mE and 306000 – 316000 mN. This research occupies an area of about 125.85 km2. According to BMB classification, the research area can be divided into four units, i.e. Doloktolong Plateau Plain Unit, Toba Caldera Wall Ridge Unit, Sibartong Complex Ridge Unit, and Silalahi Colluvium Plain Unit. The geomorphic stage in the research area is young. Stratigraphically, the research area can be divided into six non-formal rock units. The rock units, from older to younger, are Sandstone Unit, Conglomerate Unit, Andesite Unit, Tuff 1 Unit, Tuff 2 Unit, and Colluvium Deposit Unit. The geological structure developed in the research area is normal faults. This structure were formed in Pleistocene, after Tuff 1 Unit and Tuff 2 Unit were deposited. This structure interpretate caused by Toba Caldera forming. The aquifer in the research area is located in the Tuff 1 Unit, Tuff 2 Unit, and c Sandstone Unit. The aquifer type is unconfined aquifer with volcanic and sediment aquifer system. The river of groundriver flows towards the western and eastern part of the research area with groundriver relationship is effluent. The method to get hydrogeology data by directly measure in field and interview with villagers. According to Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, all spring and dug well observed in this research can be used as drinking water source, with respect to its pH and TDS. The pH value ranges from 6.5-7.3 while TDS value ranges from 30-110 mg/L. text
