Summary: |
Electric bikes are one of the electric vehicles that can reduce the use of fossil fuels. One aspect that supports electric bike technology is an electric bike charging station. In this final project, we designed a measurement system and information system based on IoT (Internet of Things) and applied for electric bike charging station system. The output of the measurement system design is a prototype of a charging station with Raspberry Pi as a microcomputer. While the output of the information system design is a cloud that can serve the request of the charging station, as well as displaying information related to charging stations. The prototype and the cloud can communicate via a communication system that uses MQTT as a communication protocol.
For the specification of an electric bike battery with rated voltage of 36 V, the measurement system that had been designed has an average relative energy error of 1,17%. From the results of a series of tests, we use the cloud provided by Google with the chatime.site domain as part of the information system. The internet service provider used for communication systems is internet service provider C. Furthermore, we distributed 3 locations of charging stations located in the ITB environment. The average delay time of the three charging stations is 0.41 seconds, 0.48 seconds, and 0.69 seconds respectively. The information system is then tested with a scenario that has 10 customers and 3 charging stations. The test results show that the design of the information system can record every transaction that occurs.
