Summary: | A layered-water-drive reservoir has different characteristics of fluid and rock each layer.Upper layer has higher GLR than lower layer. Thus, reservoir deliverability is different each layer. As time goes by, reservoir cannot lift the fluid up to the surface naturally. In order to increase oil production, artificial lift has been used, in this case gas lift is applied. The amount of gas injection is the most common issue in gas lift because it will affect the amount of liquid produced. Thus, optimization of gas allocation is very important.

The most familiar method for optimizing gas allocation is equal slope method. This method needs Gas Lift Performance Curve (GLPC) that can be constructed from IPR at certain time for each well. This method can determine the amount of gas injection to produce the optimum liquid rate.

In this study, carried out development of determining gas injection allocation for each well. Another parameter, water-cut, is considered to allocate the gas injection. This parameter is necessary to be considered because higher amount of oil produced is more preferable than water produced. Besides water-cut, gas availability is also the most concerned parameter. It affects the amount of gas injection to each well. |
